The equipment is intended for paired duplex telephone communication between users, as well as intercom (conference) duplex communication between switching operator and a group of users, in emergency situation including - when the onboard power supply system fails.

It provides communication:
- in gas- and smoke-polluted areas and rooms (using throat mike headsets and respiratory protection units);
- in rooms with air overpressure up to 10kg/cm².
