This book is a printed version of electronic lecture course on general and applied theory of gyroscopes. The lecture course is provided on a CD complementing the book, both forming a multimedia training system. The use of this multimedia system improves the training effectiveness and optimizes learning rate and depth.
Computer mathematic simulation and dynamic 3D visualization of operation principles and solution of motion equations for all gyro types are provided by special software.
The book contains the lecture text and graphics, description of software modules visualizing the gyroscope operation, and instructions on program using.
The lecture course comprises three basic parts. 1. Principles, theorems and equations of theoretical mechanics, heat exchange theory, theory of elasticity and thermoelastic behavior, aero- hydrodynamics and optics, used in the modern gyro theory. 2. Physical principles of operation of the gyro main types. 3. Special problems of the theory of disturbed gyroscopes.
